Harvest Festival 2021

The school has a long history of celebrating Harvest Festival. Today, we held a series of assemblies in our main hall involving all year groups. We were delighted to be able to finally reinstate this long-held tradition. Sixth Form students assisted with the preparation of the assemblies and invited members of the local community to join us. We were over the moon to be able to welcome once again our guests from Cheviot Court Care Home. After the Harvest Festival assemblies, our guests joined us for tea and cakes. All of us at Harton had sadly missed them!

The response of our staff, students and their families to the appeal for Harvest Festival produce was magnificent as usual. Sixth Form students packed up and delivered well over 100 food parcels, which we have shared between the local community and the Key Project in South Shields, which is a grassroots community charity supporting local young people with accommodation, as well as providing food parcels themselves.
