North East Young Engineer of the Year Winner

We are delighted that a Harton 6th Form student has recently as part of the Big Bang Science and Engineering Competition won the young engineer of the year award. Over the summer, Zasia completed a Nuffield research placement with AMAP for four weeks where she designed an enclosure for a condition monitoring system on a lathe machine. The project was selected to go through to the regional Big Bang Science and Engineering competition and now she will compete at the national finals in Birmingham. In preparation, Zasia is currently further developing her project by actually manufacturing the condition monitoring system with the company that she did the placement and we wish her all the very best for the national finals. It is great to see students gaining recognition for the innovation and hard work that they have invested.
