Record numbers on Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Forty two students successfully completed their qualifying expedition recently by completing a gruelling three days of walking in the heat in the Kielder / Hadrian’s Wall area. The group started on the Friday morning and walked to Stonehaugh where they cooked and camped along with a considerable number of midges!!! The next day the groups walked partly along the Pennine Way to a campsite near Hadrian’s wall and then on the last day walked back along a different route and completed the challenge in Stonehaugh. All of the students showed amazing resilience with many having injuries and blisters but they all showed great determination in getting to the finish line. A very big well done to all involved and thank you to all the staff that make this possible.
