School of Rock

On Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th November we will be hosting our performance of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s hit musical School of Rock. The show is based upon the hit Paramount movie of the same name starring Jack Black, with performances coming from many of our pupils in years 8 to 11. Tickets can be bought from the schools main reception at a price of £2 for children and £3 for adults, they are selling fast so make sure you get yours before they sell out. ...

Harvest Festival

Harvest festival is a long-standing tradition at Harton, and as an academy, we remain very proud of this! On 7th October, we welcomed several guests from our community, including the elderly VIP from Cheviot Court Care Home, escorted by Erica. They were also joined by the charity, The Key Project. Lessons from Auschwitz programme

Two students from Harton 6th Form and a member of staff have been involved in a "Lessons from Auschwitz" programme run by The Holocaust Educational Trust. The mission of the trust is to educate every person from every background in the UK about the Holocaust and its contemporary relevance. Based on the premise that 'hearing is not like seeing', this four-part course explores the universal lessons of the Holocaust and its relevance for today. The 2017 lecture was David Miliband’s fifteenth South Shields Annual Lecture and the ninth consecutive year that it has been hosted at Harton Technology College. This year we were delighted to welcome none other than film director, producer and screenwriter, Danny Boyle.
