Home learning summary – Year 10
English
  • Literature revision packs containing high volumes of work were sent home before closure.
  • Class teachers are setting Language and Literature tasks, weekly or fortnightly, via assignments on the school VLE. Students should check their assignments regularly.
  • Students are also encouraged to consolidate their English Language and Literature work using GCSEpod.

Maths
  • MyMaths continues to be the main source of work.  Students have access to lessons before they complete each task.  Work can be marked and feedback given within this package.

Science
  • All students have been emailed a PowerPoint summary with work to be completed up to and including the week beginning 1st In this document is a summary of the lessons for each week and a double page textbook extract to support independent learning. This arrangement will continue from 8 June.
  • Students struggling to read the text in the PowerPoint can access online books at pearsonactivelearn.com. Students in Y9 and Y10 should be familiar with how to access these and an instruction sheet was included in the email sent to Y7 and Y8 students.
  • Seneca learning classes and codes have been also been circulated via email and Pearson ActiveLearn tasks have been set to consolidate learning.
  • Students are also able to access GCSEpod independently to consolidate understanding.

History
  • Direct email contact by class teachers containing resources. Currently assignments include – Seneca assignment revising conflict and tension, Kerboodle access to textbooks and exam technique guidance and a USA homework booklet.

Please note that some Y10 classes have been set no further activities for this half term but have instead been advised to consolidate previous learning and submit work for feedback.

  • Completion of previous term’s workbook on rivers.

Art and Design Art

  • Students should be working independently on their landscape project which should have been taken home when school closure was announced. They should work through the targets set by their teachers to improve their current grade.
  • VLE based project on portraiture and or figures.
  • Student should now have been supplied with a starting points for a new project. This will be the actual portfolio that will be completed in time for their mock exam in November.

Photography

  • Complete any outstanding work, taken home at point of school closure.
  • Surrealist Photography project, in the form of a PowerPoint, to work through.
