Provision for students in receipt of free school meals (FSM) – 2

25 March 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

Provision for students in receipt of free school meals (FSM)

I appreciate that the Dicksons vouchers you received earlier this week are now null and void, as the store has been required to close. As we have previously indicated, we are revising our strategy regarding support for FSM pupils, once we are able to further determine the duration that the school is to be closed, and how we can best care for all of our pupils and their families. At the time of writing, we are still awaiting news on the Government’s national strategy to support you with your child’s free school meals.

In the meantime, families of children in receipt of FSM will today be sent a £20.00 voucher for Asda. This will need to be used as part of a one-off purchase, and we hope will go some small way to supporting you, until we hear of the Government’s plans.

Please do keep an eye on the news about these developments, and on our website, too.

Once we have new information, we will share this with you as soon as we are able to do so.

At the time of writing (Wednesday morning 7.30am), the school is open for Vulnerable children and children of Key Workers only.

Please do NOT send your children to school should you be able to make alternative arrangements. There were only three genuine cases yesterday but we will continue to make provision until it is announced otherwise.

Many thanks for your understanding and please accept our very best wishes for the coming days and weeks. Take care and stay safe.

Sir Ken
