Key Stage 4

BTEC Level 2 Tech Award in Health and Social Care.

This course offers students a unique opportunity to discover the key principles and values that underpin Health, Social Care and Early Years professions.

Students will not only develop skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to the world of health, social care and early years; they will also have the opportunity to apply their learning in a practical and realistic way. Each unit within the qualification is designed to develop communication skills, independent learning, team work and an in depth understanding of health and social care issues.  Candidates will study three units, two of which are internally assessed and the third will be assessed through a formal examination in year 11.

The different components of the course are:

  • Human Lifespan Development
  • Health and Social Care Services and Values
  • Health and Wellbeing
