You will be aware how busy lunchtimes are at our school. We currently operate a system in which Sixth Form and Year 10 and 11 students may leave the school premises if they wish. Unless they go home, those in Years 7, 8, 9 should remain in school for lunch and this letter contains information about that process.
We are aware that some parents prefer that their son/daughter goes home for lunch, particularly if they live nearby. In that case, and with safety in mind, we keep a register of those children’s names and ask parents to ensure that they are supervised by a responsible adult during the lunchtime. Leaving the school premises at lunchtime to be unsupervised or to wander should not be an option for children in Years 7, 8, 9. We ask that parents explain this to their children.
If you wish your son/daughter to have lunch at home, could you please sign and return the slip at the bottom of this letter. It should be returned to the form tutor who will create a form class record and put the slip into the child’s school planner, for checking purposes. If the situation changes, and you no longer wish the child to go home, please let us know.
