COVID-19 – Pupils in Vulnerable Circumstances
Dear Parents and Carers
Pupils in Vulnerable Circumstances
Following government advice, your child is invited to attend Harton Academy, whilst it remains closed to the majority our pupils. This decision has been made in order for us to offer our best possible care and support for you and your child.
The school will be open for your child at the usual starting and finishing times (beginning at 8:35 a.m. and finishing at 3:15 p.m.), breakfast and lunch will be available (this may be a packed-lunch). Your child will also be welcome in school over the Easter break.
We would also like to make you aware that your child will not be in an educational setting and we will not be following the usual national curriculum. However, the school will be a safe place for your child to attend during the day time, Monday to Friday.
Your child should not attend school if they are displaying the following symptoms:
- If they have a fever
- If they have a new and persistent cough
Please do follow the advice from the Government, should you need to keep your child off school (www.nhs.uk, www.gov.uk/coronavirus). If your child has any underlying health problems then they should also not attend school.
In order to safeguard your child, should you have told us that you wish them to attend but you then choose otherwise, it is essential that you call the school as soon as possible to inform us of your child’s absence.
Should you wish your child to attend Harton Academy as of Friday 20th March and thereafter, whilst the school is closed to the majority of our pupils, can you please contact the school on (0191) 4274050 or by return of e-mail to ATinmouth@hartonacademy.co.uk as soon as possible.
All pupils who are attending should report to the main hall in the 1936 building each morning unless instructed to do otherwise.
Mr Varley (Deputy Headteacher – Pupil Welfare)
