Dear Parent/Carer

Year 11 Parents’ Evening

I would like to extend to you a warm invitation to visit the school on the evening of Wednesday 30 January 2019. This will be the occasion of the Year 11 Parents’ Evening.

If you would like to attend, please ask your son/daughter to arrange times for you with subject staff who will be available from 3.30pm onwards. Cards will be issued on which their appointment times can be recorded after consultation with parents and subject teachers. Please ensure that appointment times made are acceptable to you.

Both main buildings will be in use, with Design Technology, Science and Maths staff based in the Technology building and all other subjects in the main hall of the 1936 building. You may wish your son/daughter to group appointments accordingly, to avoid having to repeatedly change buildings. Appointments will be available at five-minute intervals. If you anticipate needing more time please do not hesitate to contact the school to speak to the appropriate member of staff.

We are required to keep a record of attendance. Parents are asked to sign a register on entering the main reception area of the 1936 building. When signing in, we will also be asking parents of pupils with medical care plans, to take a copy of the plan and make any changes necessary, such as updating any changes in conditions. Staff will be available to take any updates.

There will also be an optional short talk about student finance, to be held in the Lecture Theatre. The session will provide information for the parents of students who are considering going on to higher education. For your convenience, the same session will run at three different times – 3:40pm, 4:30pm and 5:20pm. No booking is required.

If you have any questions about the Parents’ Evening, please contact Mr Royal, Head of Year 11, via Email: DRoyal@hartonacademy.co.uk

Thanks for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

Sir K A Gibson
Executive Head Teacher
