Hello, I’m Scott and welcome to my review of the band, Nirvana’s first album, Bleach. The album was released on June 15th 1989 to critical success and is Sub-Pop’s (the record label) bestselling album, which has sold more than 1,900,000 copies in the United States alone. The album’s genres are Grunge and Alternative Rock, genres which were gaining popularity around the time of the album’s release, possibly helping pioneer the genre. The most popular song on the album ‘About a Girl’ has been listened to nearly 42,000,000 times on the app Spotify, showing that even today the album is extremely popular in the rock community.
In my opinion, songs like ‘Love Buzz’, a cover of a song by a Dutch Rock band Shocking Blue, ‘About a Girl’ and ‘Negative Creep’ really captures the Grunge style of music with its (can’t think of the words to describe grunge). I would definitely recommend this album to someone who is interested in getting into this style of music or are looking for a nostalgic look back on this era of music.
Thanks for reading.
Hello my name is Lamar and welcome to HTC news. In recent news a horrific story has been uncovered. A 21 year old student called Otto Warmbier has recently died while in a coma after taking a vacation in Pyonyang, North Korea. In January 2016 he was imprisoned for attempting to steal a propaganda poster from a hotel. In a court case he plead guilty and was sentenced to 15 years of hard labour. Otto was released from North Korea after nearly 18 months there in a coma. It was said that Otto’s state was caused by botulism and sleeping pills but US physicians doubt this due to the severe neurological injuries he was diagnosed with. He sadly died on June 19 2017 six days after his return to the USA.
