Sunderland’s final home game of the season commenced on Saturday against Swansea. After a somewhat disappointing season the boys in red and white were booed by their own fans as they predictably lost 2-0. Highlights included Llorente gaining a goal in the 9th minute and Kyle Naughton later doubling the scoring. The club were playing with the news that they would most likely be relegated whether or not they came out victorious. A sixth former whom supported Sunderland said, “The entire season was disappointing, especially for the fans. People are owed their money back.” The news that long time opponents Newcastle were being promoted back to the premier league after Sunderland’s loss really kicked the understandably upset team while they were down.
In other news, Swansea have been safe from relegation after Hull City lost 4-0 to Crystal Palace. Chelsea are premier league champions after beating West Brom last Friday. Michy Batshauyi scored the only goal of the game quite late on which sees them regain the title from previous winners Leicester.
