HTSA has an exceptional pool of skilled staff to support the raising of standards in schools across the region. The Executive Head Teacher of Harton is a National Leader of Education (NLE) who has supported leadership and whole school improvement in four local schools. Our Head of School was recently the first senior leader in the region to be awarded the new designation of Regional System Leader. Mortimer Primary, our partner Teaching School takes the strategic lead for primary developments providing additional expertise and capacity. Adding further leadership and staff development capacity is a team of 27 Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) from a range of schools, subjects and phases.
As the only designated Training School in the North East we have six senior staff accredited by the National College of Teaching and Leadership to deliver core training to newly designated SLEs and who to date have trained almost 700 SLEs from across the region. On behalf of All North Teaching Schools (ANTS) we have recently led on the creation of the ANTS SLE Core Training Collaboration which has seen our accredited trainers train 15 experienced SLEs from Teaching Schools across the length and breadth of the region to deliver core training, ensuring that newly designated SLEs can access high quality training wherever their location.
