Film Studies
Course Content
GCSE Film Studies is designed to draw on students’ enthusiasm for film and introduce them to a wide variety of cinematic experiences through films which have been important in the development of film and film technology. Students will develop their knowledge of filmmaking through studying US mainstream and independent film. In addition, they will also study narrative construction, representation and film style within the UK film market. This will lead students to producing their own film or screenplay from a particular genre.
Students are assessed through three components:

Non-exam assessment 30% of qualification This component will assess the ability to apply knowledge and understanding of film to a production. Students will also be required to write an evaluative analysis.Students will produce:
