Year 7 ‘Meet the tutor’ Parents’ Evening – added on 16 September 2021

Dear Parent/Carer

Year 7 ‘Meet the tutor’ Parents’ Evening

I would like to extend to you a warm invitation to visit the school on the evening of Wednesday 29 September.  This will be the occasion of the Year 7, ‘Meet the Tutor’, Parents’ evening.

The evening has been introduced in order to provide you with feedback about how well your child has settled into life at Harton.  Discussions will be led by Year 7 tutors and/or a member of our Special Educational Needs team.  At this stage, the meetings will not focus on academic performance but, instead, the personal development of your child.

If you would like to attend, please ask your son/daughter to arrange an appointment time for you with their tutor and/or Mrs Wall, our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. Appointments will be available from 3:30 pm-6:00 pm, in five-minute intervals.  Pupils will be issued with appointment times and we would urge you to ensure that your allocated time is convenient. If you are unavailable on this date, and would like feedback, please contact the main school office who will be able to provide you with appropriate contact details for your child’s tutor and/or Mrs Wall.

Tutors will be based on the ground floor of the 1936 Building, and Mrs Wall, and members of her SEN team, will be in our Inclusion Resource Base. We are working to ensure your visit is as COVID-secure as possible. Face coverings are optional, rooms will be ventilated and appropriate social distancing measures will be in place.  We are required to keep a register of attendance and therefore ask all parents/carers arrive via the main entrance of the 1936 Building and sign the registers as you arrive.

May we remind you that it is the responsibility of all parents/carers to keep the school informed of any changes to contact and medical details for your son/daughter?  If there have been any changes to these details please let your child’s tutor know during your appointment.

If you have any questions about the evening please contact Mr Smart, Head of Year 7, via email:

Many thanks for your continued support.

Yours Sincerely

Mr D Amos
Acting Head Teacher
