Close to 100 Harton 6th form students took over the ice at Whitley Bay ice rink in the last week of term and a good afternoon was had by all. For many it was the first time skating and they made great progress and for others it was like an audition for Dancing on Ice!!! As ever it was lovely to see lots of happy faces even when some had a tumble and a great activity to lead in to the Christmas holidays. A BIG well-done to the Team Kenya students that embraced the Boxing Day dip - it was a stunning sunny day but when you hit the water it was very much the North sea and refreshing to say the least. We all felt amazing well it was over, and the students were able to raise some sponsorship which will help fund their expedition to Kenya in 2026. They will be undertaking comunity projects, climbing Mount Kenya, going on Safari and visiting and staying with a Masai tribe. It will be an incredible experience for the students involved and we look forward to seeing them grow and develop individually and as a team in the build up to the experience. ...
