We would like to congratulate all of the candidates for their outstanding performance during the election campaign, hustings, and their superb conduct throughout this intense and challenging period. We hope that the experience was both rewarding and memorable for all of them. The class of 2019 were in high spirits and keen to celebrate the end of A levels. They all looked smart and sophisticated and it was lovely to see the amazing young adults they have turned out to be. They arrived at The Holiday Inn, Jesmond where they enjoyed canapes and arrival drinks, chatting with staff and reflecting on their time in Sixth Form. Emily and Josh, Head Girl and Head Boy, spoke of their time in Sixth Form and how they have made strong bonds with their peers. The sun shone on our Year 11 Prom, held at Beamish Hall Hotel. 200 Year 11 pupils joined over 40 staff to celebrate the end of their exams. The girls were stunning and wore breath-taking dresses in a variety of colours and styles reflecting their diverse personalities. The boys, looking more like young men, looked sophisticated and debonair in their suits. Seeing so many staff and pupils share this extraordinary event - a real highlight of the school year - showed the spirit and team-work which makes Harton Academy such a good place to learn and work. End of Term Arrangements July 2019 We would like to issue a reminder that the last day of term will be Friday 19 July. We intend to close the school at 12:15pm on that day so that end of term staff presentations can take place. These arrangements should not result in any child being unduly unsupervised or unable to safely travel home - please inform us via the school office if that may be the case and we will make contact with you to make suitable supervision arrangements.
