Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Evening

For the first time in many years, nine students were presented with their silver certificate and badge at the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award evening hosted at Harton. It was lovely to celebrate the students success in front of family members and staff and to see so many successfully complete the award. There are record numbers currently involved at all levels, including gold and there will be many more in the near future who will also complete the award. Community Tea Dance success

For the fifth year Harton 6th Form held one of the nicest events on the calendar when over 40 people supported a community tea dance on Saturday 21st January. As ever the 6th form students were fabulous in firstly volunteering their time to support the event and in serving food, cleaning up and even having a good go at some of the dances. The feedback from everyone that attended was lovely and we look forward to working with AgeUk in the future to keep this event going. Cambridge University Trip

Fifteen year 12 students have just recently returned from a two day visit to Trinity Hall at Cambridge University. The visit has been a huge success over the past few years in helping to raise students aspirations in believing that they can apply to such world renowned universities. The students thoroughly enjoyed the visit which included visiting several different colleges and the library as well as getting a feel for the city.
