Life @ Harton
A very big well done to the twenty six year 12 and 13 students that successfully completed the Kielder Challenge which consists of a 12 mile cycle and 14 mile walk around Kielder reservoir. The group had a very early start meeting at 5.50am and did not return until 8.00pm after a demanding day which finished under torch light in total darkness. Everyone showed fantastic determination and commitment throughout and many raised significant sponsorship to support their fundraising for the overseas expeditions that they will be going on in the future. A big thanks to the staff that also supported the day and made the whole challenge possible. ...

On Friday 8 November, Harton Academy marked the Armistice in our annual Remembrance Service assemblies and we were delighted to welcome members of the neighbourhood and from a local care home, as we do every year. Over 500 students and staff were absolutely thrilled to witness Chris and Karen’s dance last week and the students gave a massive thumbs up with a hall full of marks of 10 out of 10! Chris was hilarious on stage in his old school before the dance and he, and the delightful Karen, mixed with the students and staff afterwards, before Chris took Karen on a tour of the old building where he attended 17 years ago! The entire community wish Chris and Karen continued success in the show and believe they will go very far, due to Chris’s natural talent as a dancer and his huge popularity with the public. This along with Karen’s amazing pat...
