A few important messages

Dear Parents and Carers As we hand your children back to you for the week, I wanted to share a few important messages. Please take a moment or two to read this. Thank you. There is a strong link between excellent attendance and students doing well in their exams. Bane of the Forsaken

It’s wonderful to see Kai realise his love of complex storytelling and passion for Norse mythology in Bane of the Forsaken. It’s a fantastic achievement to have a book published, especially at such a young age, and nobody underestimates the hard work and dedication it represents. We’re extremely proud of Kai and hope this is the first in a long line of successes. [gallery type="rectangular" ids="84276,84277,84278,84279"] Book available on Amazon here: ...

Bronze qualifying Duke of Edinburgh's Expedition success

Bronze qualifying Duke of Edinburgh's Expedition success Well done to all 27 of the year 10 students that completed the bronze expedition in Teesdale at the weekend. The weather conditions could have been kinder, however, the students all rose to the occasion and showed resilience, determination and perseverance over the two days. Also, a big thanks to all the staff that helped make this possible - it is great to see the award at Harton continuing to grow and develop and so many young people grasping this fabulous opportunity. All the students did themselves proud in facing all the demands and challenges over the 3 days and it a pleasure to see them show and develop many key skills and qualities such as perseverance, teamwork, leadership, decision making and resilience. A few have already enquired about taking on Gold and many will be doing this as part of the team that will be heading on t...
