White Ribbon Campaign

Harton Academy is supporting the white ribbon campaign to end male violence against women. By wearing a white ribbon staff and students pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women. The UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is on 25th November. This is the first day of the 16 Days of Action, where a network of volunteers campaign against violence against women, working with communities in putting on events across the UK. Remembrance Service 2018

Today, Harton has marked the centenary of the Armistice in our annual Remembrance Service assemblies and we were delighted to welcome members of the neighbourhood from local care homes, as we do every year. We are extremely honoured that our special guest, Mr Harold Yeoman, was able to visit us this morning, too. Harold was in the first ever year group on this school site, when he joined us in 1936. He went on to serve our country, completing 14 raids over Europe in a Wellington Bomber.
