A Level Results 2022
Harton 6th Form is once again very proud of the students’ achievements in what has been an incredibly challenging few years for everyone. We recognise the hard work and commitment that the students and staff have put in and a large percentage of students are now moving on to their chosen progression pathway. Many have secured places at universities all over the UK and some will be starting apprenticeships or school leaver programmes or taking time to gain additional experiences and consider their options. It has been a pleasure seeing the students develop not just academically but into well-rounded young people who will undoubtedly make a positive contribution to society in the future.
We believe the class of 2022 will have developed many additional skills and qualities through all the additional challenges they have faced and that this will stand them in good stead in the future. In addition to the academic success we have also had record numbers of students achieve both the silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and also had a team of students recently complete an amazing expedition to Kenya which included summiting Mount Kenya and going on a safari. It is great that so many students embrace the opportunities and experiences that are offered at the 6th form and we hope students will have lasting positive memories of their time in 6th form.
2022 has also been one of the strongest years in terms of positive future progression with over 75% of the year moving onto Higher Education. At present over 40% have secured places at research led Russell Group Universities. There is an incredibly diverse range of course that students are moving on to including Sports Science, engineering, Criminology, Neuroscience, Law, Accounting and Finance, Nursing, Sciences and Ancient, Classical and Medieval Studies along with many more. Two students have successfully gained places at the University of Oxford and two students were also successful in gaining places at Medical school. It is also great to see students spreading their wings moving all over the UK from London all the way up to Glasgow.
We would all like to wish the students all the very best in the next stage of their lives and look forward to catching back up with them in December at the Presentation Evening.
