Dukehouse Wood Trip
During enrichment week, 53 students and 6 staff members had an incredible experience at Dukehouse Wood Activity Centre in Hexham.
The four-day trip was packed with 15 exciting activities, including climbing, buggy building, high ropes, Jacob’s ladder, Leap of Faith, fire making, shelter building, archery, orienteering, 3G swing, problem solving, fencing, nature walk, rocket making, mini Olympics, and kicky rounders.
All the students displayed a fantastic attitude, embracing challenges and stepping out of their comfort zones. They were a delight to accompany, and the staff enjoyed getting to know them better in this new setting, witnessing their growth and development. The centre’s staff even remarked that Harton was one of the best groups they had ever hosted, which was wonderful feedback to receive. Adding to the memorable experience, a few talented students brought their guitars and performed amazing songs in a private gig for the group.
