Harton Academy attended the South Tyneside FAB (Friends Against Bullying) Award Ceremony this week.

The ceremony recognises and regards young people for helping to raise the awareness of bullying and the impact it has on others. It also fosters the importance of inclusivity for all.

Sophie Carr, in Year 11, had been nominated for the Role Model Award and she attended alongside Yacub Ahmed, in Year 11, who acted as an excellent Ambassador for the South Tyneside Young People’s Parliament.

We are delighted to announce that Sophie won! She was presented her award by Beverley Scanlon, Head of Learning and Early Help and has been asked to meet with the Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Pat Hay.

Both Yacub and Sophie were perfect representatives of Harton Academy and we are all very proud of you both.
