Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

A big well done to seventeen 6th Form students that successfully completed their practice Gold D of E expedition in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. It was great to see the students back in the great outdoors after the past 18 months and I was very impressed with how they all coped with some challenging walking which included going up one of the Yorkshire three peaks – Ingleborough and some even opted to go up Pen-y-ghent. The three groups now have to face the qualifying expedition with just two weeks rest in between in the lake district and we wish them well for this. It is by far the biggest number of students we have had go for the highest level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award which is great to see, and we also have year 10 and 11 students soon going on their bronze expeditions too.
