The Illuminare Multi Academy Trust are delighted to announce Dame Vera Baird KC as a Member of the Trust.

Dame Vera Baird KC, the former Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales and Solicitor General during the last Labour Government will bring her wealth of experience to the Trust.

Members are responsible for holding the trust board to account for the effective governance of the Trust.

Sir Ken Gibson, Chief Executive Officer of the Illuminare Multi Academy Trust said:

‘I am delighted that Dame Vera Baird KC has agreed to join our Trust as a member.  The role of member is essential to the integrity of an Academy Trust governance structure, Dame Vera brings a wealth of experience, ranging from her legal background as Kings Counsel to a senior member of the last Labour Government, where she held the role of Solicitor General.  I know that Vera is looking forward to joining the Trust, meeting with staff and supporting our students who may be considering a legal career.  We are very fortunate Dame Vera has agreed to join the Trust’.
