Important update regarding today’s events
Dear Parents and Carers
Re: Important update regarding today’s events
I am writing to address the events of today, which saw some parents come to collect their children from school due to misinformation posted on social media. We fully understand the anxiety and unnecessary concern that this may have caused, and wish to provide you with clear and accurate information about the situation.
This morning, we contacted the police to assist with an investigation into an incident that took place in the local community, as well as communications originating from outside the school. The police have since confirmed that the reported matters were determined to be a case of malicious communication. Crucially, the police assured us that there was never any threat to the safety of pupils within the school or any immediate danger to individuals off-site.
As a result, the school day proceeded as normal. Please rest assured that, had there been any risk to pupils or staff, the school would have immediately initiated a lockdown procedure in line with our safeguarding protocols. This decision would only be lifted upon the advice of the appropriate external agencies. At no point was there any need to enact any such measures.
Safeguarding remains our highest priority, and we want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of our pupils and staff will always come first. Should there ever be a situation requiring your urgent attention, we would contact parents and carers directly to provide timely and accurate updates, avoiding unnecessary confusion or distress.
All pupils should return to school as normal on Monday, where the matter will be addressed with all of our students via assemblies. Your continued support and trust in our school community are greatly appreciated.
If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school directly.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Yours sincerely
Mr J Skurr
Head Teacher
