Saffron Fowles

It is with immense sadness that I write this tribute to one of our much-loved former students and trainee teacher, Saffron Fowles. Saffron very sadly passed away on Thursday 6 May 2021.

Saffron was completing her teacher training with us and had already been appointed to a full-time teaching role at Harton from this coming September.

She was an incredibly talented young teacher and extremely popular with staff and students alike. Her lesson planning, natural ability, enthusiasm and genuine love of the job made her one of the finest prospects that it has been my pleasure to appoint at Harton. I was privileged to observe Saffron teaching a few weeks ago and she was outstanding in every respect. The children knew what a fabulous teacher they had in front of them too and the lesson just flowed beautifully.

As an ex-student, who spent 7 years with us at Harton, Saffron was very much one of our own. Her death is perhaps all the harder to bear for this reason; she was an integral part of the Harton family.

Our thoughts go to all of her loved ones, her family, her partner Jack and her close friends.
We have sought permission from Saffron’s loved ones to post this tribute and I know that a number of our staff will be in attendance at Saffron’s funeral to celebrate the life of a wonderful young lady.
