Staff 60-mile Challenge Walk
A group of Harton staff took on the challenge of walking 60 miles along the North Yorkshire Coast from Flamborough Head to Saltburn over three days.
The aim was to raise some additional funds for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award funds to help support the award that was offered to so many students at Harton. We had record numbers participating in the award and were looking to buy some additional kit and ensure we could keep the cost of doing the award to an affordable level.
A few years ago, a fund was established in memory of Mr. Alan Williams, to support students participating in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. Mr. Williams led various expeditions and was incredibly passionate about developing young people and fostering a love for the great outdoors and adventure activities. Over £5000 had already been raised through the Go Fund Me page (https://gofund.me/15135982) set up in Alan’s memory, and we were keen to try and boost this fund if possible.
