Extended Project Qualification
The Extended Project is a Level 3 qualification that is open to all pupils undertaking study at Harton Sixth Form. It will help students develop the knowledge and skills that will be required of them when undertaking similar projects in HE. It is available in the form of: As a stand-alone qualification. Learners may choose to take the Extended Project Qualification as an extension from studies for any other qualifications at Level 3 (for example GCE, BTEC) As part of the AQA Baccalaureate The beauty of the EPQ is that it allows students freedom and choice in shaping their own education. They can pick a topic that extends an aspect of a subject they are studying or a topic in which they have a real personal interest. The student chooses a topic and is allocated a supervisor. The onus is on the learner from the outset; they must show that they can plan, deliver and present an original piece of work at A2 standard. Features of the course include: Designing and planning the project Managing information and research Selecting and evaluating a range of resources Analysing information Evaluating the project and learning processes Presenting the project outcomes using a range of communication skills.
