Face Coverings
Face coverings on scholars’ buses
Dear Parents and Carers
You will be aware of the Government’s gradual easing of restrictions, which come into play on Monday 17 May, when the country will move to Step 3 of the Roadmap. The changes to be introduced include that face coverings will no longer need to be worn by our students, unless they are working in a closer way with staff, such as learning how to use a piece of specialist equipment. The full details of changes to the wearing of face coverings from Monday 17 May can be found here:
In essence, staff will still be required to wear facemasks in communal areas, such as corridors; students will not. However, you reserve the right to expect that your child can wear a mask, if you and they so wish.
Inevitably, the Government may choose to revert to the mandatory wearing of face coverings, should the rate of infections rise too much. Please do be reassured that any decisions we make at Harton are based upon Government and Public Health England advice, which we must follow at all times. We are doing all we can to ensure the school remains as COVID-secure as possible for all our students, staff and visitors.
Best wishes.
Sir Ken Gibson, Executive Head Teacher.
David Amos, Head of School.
