Independent Travel Training Survey

South Tyneside Council want to make sure that young people are able to live as independently as possible. This includes being able to travel safely to and from their school/setting as well visiting and meeting their friends by themselves, using different ways of getting there including walking, cycling or going on a bus.

Most young people will be able to travel independently, but some might need extra support to help them do this. This is known as Independent Travel Training. Travel training is about learning to make a trip between two places on your own. This is usually between your home and your place of learning/training.

If you are a young people with SEND, a parents/carers or someone that supports them we would love to find out your views on Independent Travel Training, what support is needed to get young people traveling independently and the best way of providing this.

If you could please spare a few moments to complete the survey that would help us make sure that the right offer is developed for young people in South Tyneside.
