Staffing and Leadership Update
Dear Parents/Carers and Students
I am writing to you today, out of courtesy, to update you on some key information regarding staffing and leadership at Harton Academy.
First of all, following my decision to retire at the end of August 2023, the Directors advertised my post and I am delighted to say we have appointed Mr David Amos as Acting CEO/Head Teacher with effect from 1 September 2023.
In the meantime, I am indebted to Mr Amos and the rest of the Senior Leadership Team for taking over the reins in my enforced absence. I have been undergoing a series of tests and procedures and am currently awaiting major heart surgery in the very near future. I have been advised to avoid the day to day stress of running a very large school but have kept in touch with senior staff and will continue to do so until the surgery.
I know that the school is in very safe hands and I sincerely hope to return, fully fit, for the final few months of my 40th year at Harton.
